120.jpg

RJC1000 is the first music production suite designed for making reactive versions of your music.

RJC1000 lets you create scenes using a library of included “reality modules”. The scenes can be listened to by anyone with RjDj’s free iPhone application.

  • You can create music where the movements of a listener control the melody of your song or the percussive noises in the listeners environment become part of the beat structure of your song.
  • All of the iPhone’s sensors, such as accelerometer, microphone, compass, clock, GPS, etc., can control your musical experience.
  • Apply a range of realtime effects such as Eargasms or Dub Delays to the player’s microphone and combine the result with your music.

The Audiotool Team has announced that Audiotool 1.0 Firestarter is now available:

We are proud to release Audiotool 1.0 Firestarter, a music making online platform.

Two years ago we started with a simple idea: Everyone should be able to make music online through their browser without the need to install any additional software. This proof of concept was a great success and since then we have continually updated Audiotool with new features, as well as, pocketing a Red-Dot Award and a German Design Award.

However we have never considered any of the updates worthy of the being the 1.0 release, until now.

113.jpg

Celemony Software has announced that Melodyne editor will be updated to version 1.1 in April.

The free update improves the sound quality, performance and reliability of the software, optimizes numerous functions, and fixes a number of bugs. At the same time as the Melodyne editor update, updates will be appearing for Melodyne assistant and Melodyne essential RTAS.

“Melodyne editor has got off to a good start: the power to edit individual notes within chords has been welcomed enthusiastically, and we have been receiving highly positive feedback from users and the press,” reports Product Manager Stefan Lindlahr. “But version 1.0 of any new product is going to have one or two rough edges and the occasional bug. We’ve looked into them, naturally, and are looking forward to making available shortly a version 1.1 featuring improvements in many areas.”

No word from Line 6 on:

Note to Line 6: Throw us a biscuit!

Thomas Dolby Gives His Own Review Of Melodyne Editor

Filed under: Uncategorized | Back to: Homepage

111.jpg

Thomas Dolby has posted his personal review of Melodyne Editor at his site – and he’s hyperactive about it:

I think this is a fabulous, magical piece of software.

I always thought of pitch/time shifting tools as something you could apply to monophonic content, but that complex or polyphonic content was strictly out of bounds.

After using Melodyne’s DNA (Direct Note Access) technology I’ve had a revelation: an audio recording is just a bunch of fundamentals and harmonics represented as digital data, that can be analysed, segmented and manipulated, all non-destructively.

Dolby adds that he isn’t affiliated with Melodyne – he just thinks it’s a fabulous piece of kit.

If you’re not familiar with Melodyne Editor – it’s an audio editor that lets you edit individual notes within polyphonic recorded audio. See our previous Melodyne posts for details.
