EMS Synthi 100

Filed under: Uncategorized | Back to: Homepage

The EMS Synthi 100 was a large analogue synthesizer made by Electronic Music Studios (London) Ltd. It was released in 1974 and cost $25,000. Around 30 units (29, according to some sources) were built during the 1970s and 1980s.

The Synthi 100 was developed from a combination of three VCS-3 Systems, ending up with 12 VCOs, two keyboards (each of it duophonic, making it possible to play 4 voices simultaneously), and a 3-track 256-step monophonic digital sequencer. Two 64 x 64 patchbays were used to connect the different modules.

Black Magic Loop Generator

Filed under: Uncategorized | Back to: Homepage

Black Magic Loop Generator creates loops that can instantly be recorded out to WAV, automatically named by BPM and timestamp. The idea developed to make sample based loops an easy and fun process, as loop creation is generally a time consuming process.

Black Magic can also be used as a standard midi drum machine and also has the ability to jam with the individual sequences in real time. It has 10 Samplers each with its own sequencer and many adjustable parameters. It uses standard WAV files and ships with a large library of samples, but users can easily add their own.

There is also an FX section which includes a Compressor/Limiter, Delay, SoundScaper, Flanger/Filter and Drive as well as many Modulation options including randomizers, a Modulation sequencer and an LFO.

Pulsemodulator

Filed under: Uncategorized | Back to: Homepage

Pulse Speed: These three knobs control the rate of the individual LFOs. If the sync switch for an LFO is engaged (the “1?, “2?, and “3? switches on the bottom) that LFO will be synchronized to host tempo and the knob will select different tempo divisions.
Pulse Depth: Perhaps unsurprisingly, these three knobs control the depth of the individual LFOs. That is to say, they control how much each LFO affects the dry signal.
Boost Amount: This is labeled as it is on the real pedal. However, the label implies a boost circuit, but in fact it was more of a fuzz. We’ve modeled it as a fuzz but called it “Boost” as well.
Pulse Shape: This controls the waveshape of all three LFOs.
